As a teenager, Buddy Nielsen was one of the first musicians that I idolized. Recently he joined Ray Harkins on the 100wordspodcast and opened up about his story and his personal struggles. Having grown up listening to his albums, I think it's an amazing behind the scenes insight to what brought me the records that I loved. Even if you've never heard of him or listen to this genre of music, it is still well worth a listen. He holds nothing back and I think it's rare to get a chance to hear someone be this open about their personal issues that went on in the dark.
